From now until September 24, especially the weekend of September 15-17, we each have a critical opportunity to spread the message that #NatureCools in cities throughout the world, on social media, and in the mainstream media.
Join us in showing people that restoring and protecting nature cools the climate, hydrates the land to prevent wildfires, drought and flooding, and reduces extreme weather during the:
- Global Fight to End Fossil Fuels – September 15-17
- March to End Fossil Fuels – Sunday, September 17
– in New York City and in cities throughout the world - Climate Week in New York City – September 17-24
This worldwide mobilization of climate and justice activists and everyday people is taking place just before and during the UN Climate Ambition Summit in New York City, where world leaders will gather to commit to phasing out fossil fuels.
Here’s how you can participate:
> Host or join an action to restore nature Sept 10-24 – (ideally Sept 15-16)
> Share daily social media posts on how #NatureCools on your social media
> Create and carry a sign saying #NatureCools at a March near you – Sept 15-17
> Create and carry a sign saying #NatureCools at the New York City March – Sept 17
> March with our climate hub “Nature Cools” at the New York City March – Sept 17
> Support and educate the youth at a Fridays for Future Climate Strike
> Take pictures and post them on social media with a brief description
> Share your social media posts, pictures and descriptions with us
