What can be done to break the ocean’s fever and cool the planet?

With the oceans warming rapidly causing larger storms and hurricanes, forecasts for sea level rise ranging from 2 feet to 20 feet by 2100, and polar regions warming three times faster than the rest of the world, humanity may be facing the most challenging time in its history.

Join us for this 12-week course starting on September 18. Classes are hosted on Zoom from 12 – 2pm ET and 7 – 9pm ET. Participants can choose the time that works best for their schedules.

The primary book we will use in the course is The Quickening. We will follow author Elizabeth Rush as she grapples with these issues of a warming planet and shares her experiences first hand during her voyage with a team of scientists to Antarctica.

In our second book (optional), The Light Eaters by Zoë Schlanger, we will follow an in-depth look at the intelligence of plants. Their ability to transform the sun’s energy by photosynthesis has numerous benefits for the oceans and for all of the ecosystems on earth.
