Pre-Conference Guided Nature Walk
Saturday, May 2, 2015, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
$20, sliding scale, limited to 15 participants
David Morimoto, Associate Professor of Biology, Lesley University, will be our guide as we visit the Alewife Reservation near the Alewife T stop on the Red Line. Learn about the vital ecology of the area and the essential connections among all the life there, including humans. Discussion will include loss of the Silver Maple Forest, and the importance of citizen action in protecting urban wildlands.
Bring cameras, and binoculars if you have them. We’ll collect photos and narrative to present during the formal program on Sunday. Be sure to dress fully covered, with socks and heavy shoes. We will have appropriate repellent for those concerned with ticks. Also bring hat and water, and note-taking material if you like. Tickets for walk are $20, sliding scale, limited to 15 participants.
