For years people told us at Bio4Climate that we didn’t have the data to show that #naturecools, but that is changing.
Researchers in Guildford, England, compared six types of green and blue spaces — woodlands, grasslands, lakes, green walls, pocket parks, and riverside areas — from June 2023 through August 2025. All six were 1.81–2.49°C cooler than built-up areas, and woodlands provided the most cooling: up to 6°C cooler on extreme heat days.
