Biodiversity for a Livable Climate co-hosted a forum on Miyawaki miniforest adoption featuring keynote speaker Douglas Tallamy, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and community leaders to explore how dense, biodiverse pocket forests address biodiversity loss and help regulate our climate.
This year's Summit brings together practitioners and researchers from across the growing miniforest movement, including keynote speakers Ethan Tapper, bestselling author of How to Love a Forest, and Mio Urata, a Japanese Miyawaki forester with over 20 years of experience restoring forests worldwide. Alongside 20+ speakers and panelists, they'll share what's being learned on the ground — from soil science and stewardship to community organizing and policy — as the Miyawaki Method takes root across the Northeast.
