A Latine Outdoor Experience: Remembering, Resisting, and Reimagining, by Olivia Aguilar

In A Latine Outdoor Experience: Remembering, Resisting, and Reimagining, Prof. Olivia Aguilar, Director of the Miller Worley Center for the Environment and faculty member in Environmental Studies at Mount Holyoke College, brings together stories from members of Latino Outdoors to explore how Latine communities experience nature, public space, family, and outdoor life. Through personal narratives of memory, resistance, and resilience, the book challenges narrow ideas of who belongs in environmental spaces and helps reimagine a more inclusive outdoor movement.

Recommended by Poulomi Chakravarty, who had the opportunity to work with Prof. Aguilar while hosting a conference workshop at Mount Holyoke College. Poulomi was deeply impressed by her work and warmly recommends this book for its thoughtful exploration of culture, identity, belonging, and our relationships with the natural world.
